China's regulations on the entry of pets

2. Only dogs and cats are allowed to bring pets when entering China, one per person at a time.

3. If the passenger fails to provide the quarantine certificate and rabies immunity certificate issued by the authorities of the exporting country (or region), or exceeds the prescribed limit, the customs will inform the port animal and plant quarantine office to detain the dog or cat concerned temporarily. Passengers shall, within the time limit prescribed by the port animal and plant quarantine office, go through the formalities for returning the articles to foreign countries.

4. The port animal and plant quarantine office will quarantine the dogs and cats in designated places for a period of 30 days. Dogs and cats that have passed the quarantine inspection shall be allowed to enter the country on the strength of the quarantine certificate issued by the port animal and plant quarantine office; Those failing in the quarantine inspection shall be dealt with by the quarantine organ in accordance with the relevant provisions.

5. During the quarantine period, the owner shall be responsible for the breeding and management of companion dogs and cats, or entrust the port animal and plant quarantine office to act as the agent. The expenses involved in quarantine, breeding and management shall be paid by the owner to the animal and plant quarantine office.

6. Passengers carrying dogs or cats in violation of the above regulations will be dealt with by the animal and plant quarantine office and the customs according to law.

Basic process of pet returning home

Prepare the exit documents.
